The metal collection of the Amir Kabir Cultural Foundation features a variety of objects crafted from gold, silver, copper, and brass—each a testament to the rich tradition of Iranian metal artistry. These pieces, created using techniques such as engraving, openwork, and repoussé, reflect the elegance and sophistication of Persian craftsmanship. The collection also includes historical coins and other precious metal artifacts, offering a tangible narrative of Iran’s cultural and historical legacy. The glass collection includes vessels, ornaments, and handcrafted glass items made using traditional techniques such as blowing, carving, and coloring. These objects not only showcase the enduring art of Persian glassmaking but also reveal the deep connection between art, industry, and daily life across different historical periods.

Some Notable Treasury Items

Copper Tray

This copper tray is one of the outstanding examples of Iranian metalworking art, made in Shiraz in 1794 and acquired in 1997. The masterful design and chasing of this tray are a combination of Islimi motifs, calligraphic inscriptions, and traditional decorations that showcase the skill and taste of Shirazi artisans. This work is a reflection of the ancient art and long-standing traditions of metalworking in Iran, holding a special place in the museum’s metalwork collection both aesthetically and historically.

Filigree Carriage

This filigree carriage, made of silver, is an exquisite work of Georgian art, crafted with remarkable skill and delicacy. This piece was gifted to Dr. Hassan Habibi in 1996 by Eduard Shevardnadze, the then-President of Georgia. With its precise design and use of the filigree technique, this carriage is indicative of the traditional Georgian art of making delicate metal objects and is preserved as one of the valuable diplomatic gifts in the collection of the Amirkabir Cultural Foundation.

Silver Coffee Pot

This silver coffee pot is a delicate and exquisite work of metal art, adorned with precise engravings and traditional designs. This piece was gifted to Dr. Hassan Habibi at the summit of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation by Fahd Al Said. Silver coffee pots are part of the culture of hospitality in many Islamic countries, and this example, with its unique artistic details, holds a special place in the collection of the Amirkabir Cultural Foundation.
